first smiles *for Auntie*

Stacey, Kendall and Audrey stopped by for a short visit today. Audrey is a month old now, and what a cutie! I sure hopes she keeps her jet black hair. I was talking to her, and she was just smiling away, I told her how pretty her smiles where and that mommy didn't tell me she was a smiler now, then mommy rushed over to see the smiles too.... They weren't just the first smiles I got to see, they were first smiles. Melted my heart!

Happy Birthday Brock!

Today is Brock's 12th Birthday. I can't believe how time flies. He found out about a week ago that WWE smackdown was going to be in Kennewick in February. He wished and wished for enough money for his birthday to buy tickets, and fretted A LOT that they would sell out. There were even a few times that I had to put the talk of WWE on time out., it seemed like that's all I heard about for a few days.
He even informed us that was one of his dreams!
So I buckled...floor seats!
I "wrapped" it in a soup can, using the no sharp edge can opener on the bottom of the can, putting the tickets inside and gluing the lid back on. I have always wanted to do this, but didn't have the right can opener, so I got one yesterday.
We really had him going, I gave the can to Bill and said I think something is wrong with this can of soup. Oh, Brock was all over it. He even said, are you sure it doesn't say Cunky instead to Chunky?
He had NO idea he was opening his birthday present, it was great!
I told him I wanted to take pictures of him opening it so we had "proof".

Even tho it felt so light, he couldn't believe it when he pried the lid off and saw a plastic bag.
WWE tickets DAD!
One Happy 12 year old!
Now he just has to wait until February 6th..........that may be a long wait, for all of us.

Tomorrow's the day

I can't wait for tomorrow, and the unveiling of the new Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog.
I have them already! Oh how I wish I could show you, but you must wait!
Today, I tried to photograph some pottery, it turned out terrible. You can't see the wonderful browns of the crock, and the awesome blues in the bowl. My niece Carmen who lives in Grandview, is quite the artist with clay. I only had one piece, the utensil crock, but for Christmas, my mother in law gave me a wonderful high edge plate with a bowl connected to the center for dip. It is so pretty IRL and it matches my Denby China so nicely.
Check out my SU site tomorrow to see the new catty on line, if you want a real copy, let me know and I will get one to ya. And, remember, Sale-A-Bration is only a few weeks away.....free stamps......gotta love that!

Science Project

Brock had to make a "animal cell model" for science class. His Dad helped him, and they worked on it for a few hours. I am so glad Bill is good at these things, trust me it wouldn't had looked near this cool if I was helping him. They scavenged the kitchen a bit, the flower beds for bark and even one of the fish tackle box's! I think they did a great job.

Help me out here

After looking at these big, white, very badly painted cabinets for 13 years, they are going to get a make-over. The question is what color? I want bold color, but it freaks me out at the same time. I thought I was being daring when we painted the inside of the house a pink tint white! So, let the ideas fly, visuals would be greatly appreciated.
We were talking about why we haven't ever done anything with the kitchen, we never came up with an answer.
I also want to paint that back wall with the window a bold color.

Homework

Paige needed to make a home made dish for Home Economics. She picked the dairy group and wanted to make Mac and Cheese. The problem here is that she had to work tonight from 5:30 pm to 10 pm, and had to take the Mac and cheese to school tomorrow morning. This momma is no where awake at 10 pm... can you see where this is headed?
Anyway I hope I , I mean, Paige gets a good grade on the Mac and Cheese she slaved over, and I hope the teacher doesn't read our blog. In all fairness, I will add that it wasn't totally painless for Paige, as I wasn't real thrilled to get the news on my way home from work tonight!

What is up with this fever?

Well after 3 days of fevers going up to 103.4, for the past two days Brock's temp is almost normal during the day and then goes up to 101.something in the evening. ARGG. During the day, the poor kitties have been the outlet to his boredom. Poor kitties. The sheet Brock has around himself, I put on him early into the fever when he was very hot and wanted a blanket. He has grown to love it in the past 5 days!

And a little love from his Tuffy!

Not so happy new year :(

We have a sick boy.
Brock has been running a high fever up to 103.4, and sore throat since New Years Eve. Plus the poor kid is getting 2 side by side molars and the respective baby teeth are still hanging in there. Not Great. Ibuprofen brings it down a tad, but it is still going back up to up to over 103. We visited the on-call Doc today. (His Dr and staff are off, who do those people think they are anyway??????)
Rapid strept was neg, so looks like he has a nasty virus.
